Review

Ambasada has released yet another album that speaks volumes about his journey through music  a fruitful journey that is! Following the unprecedented success of his previous albums, Sababu Yako offers a heart-to- heart approach that captures his maturity as an artiste!

It is laced with Ambasada’s imprint of originality but will surprise even the most ardent of fans as he tackles issues such as corruption, HIV/AIDS and love. Whereas his previous two albums – Natamani and Yaka were heavily afro fusion, this record is a clever fusion of electronic and contemporary dance arrangements that have stolen the hearts of many a Ugandan youth!

‘Muwe Ekitibwa’ tastefully done in Luganda; Night and Day and Abaana b’Africa stand out as pleas for justice, right and good, but it is the title track, Sababu Yako, that best captures the spiritual side of Ambasada in prayer mode. Then there is the wedding chant Ngenze Noono (the day has come) and the gospel dance anthem Folo Folo.

Go for it at your nearest Sound Africa music outlet or download it here beginning April 15, 2010.
